The history of the Monastery of La Cartuja dates back to before the conquest, founded by Don Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, with construction beginning in 1516. It stands as an exemplary model of Baroque architecture.

Access to the monastery's courtyard is through a plateresque entrance featuring a semi-circular arch, which houses a niche with an image of the Virgin. From there, visitors ascend a staircase leading to the convent door, granting entry to various facilities.
